This summer, something remarkable will happen in Lviv.
Sixty passionate educators from across Ukraine will come together — not just to learn, but to begin building the future of Ukraine’s European identity.
From July 19–20, 2025, the first training in the series “Preparing for EU Membership: Training for Ambassadors of European Integration (Education)” take place. It’s more than a seminar. It’s a movement — a community of teachers and trainers who believe that Europe begins in the classroom.
Why we’re doing this.
For Ukraine, integration into the European Union is not only a political goal — it’s an educational transformation. Schools and universities will play a key role in shaping a new generation of citizens who understand Europe, share its values, and actively contribute to its future.
That’s why Get Ready for Europe, together with State Service of Education Quality, and local universities, is launching this initiative.
Our goal?
To empower teachers to become ambassadors of European integration — spreading knowledge, fostering curiosity, and inspiring their communities.
What happens in Lviv
For two intense and inspiring days, participants will dive deep into topics like:
- The foundations of the European Union — its history, values, and institutions.
- The importance of the EU for Ukraine’s development and post-war recovery.
- How to weave the European context into everyday lessons, from literature to civic studies.
- How education can strengthen democracy, resilience, and shared identity.
The training will blend interactive workshops, expert-led sessions, and practical design labs where teachers will co-create their own European-themed projects and learning tools.
Learning from Europe
To guide them, we’ve invited an incredible group of experts from across Europe — people who have lived, worked, and shaped education policy at every level:

- Olivier Willocx and Alina Kokhanko, Brussels Parliament (MR)
- Iryna Biskub, Professor at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Coordinator
- Ugnė Jakubauskaitė-Alasevičienė, Education Policy Expert, Founder & CEO of Educational Consultancy, Lithuania
- Asta Kulikauskaitė, European School Brussels II (EEB2)
- Virginijus Sinkevičius, Lithuanian Politician, Member of the European Parliament
Their shared message: Education is the bridge that connects Ukraine’s European future to its present reality.
By the end of the training, participants won’t just walk away with certificates — they’ll carry toolkits, new lesson plans, and a mission:
to return to their regions, lead local trainings, and spread European knowledge in their own communities.
Together, they’ll form a national network of teacher-leaders, working hand in hand with European partners to align Ukrainian education with EU standards and values.
This is only the first step in a larger journey. Each teacher trained in Lviv becomes a multiplier — passing forward what they learn, creating ripples of understanding and unity across Ukraine.
Because preparing for EU membership isn’t just about laws and policies.
It’s about people — teachers who spark curiosity, students who dream bigger, and communities that see themselves as part of something greater.
